2 injured in fall from stadium deck at Bills game

Two men were injured during the Buffalo Bills game Sunday afternoon in Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park when one of them fell from an upper deck onto the other man below.

The Bills said both men were treated immediately and taken to a hospital for observation.

An ambulance report from Rural/Metro Medical Services said that the man who fell suffered a shoulder injury and that the man he struck had a head injury.

Rural/Metro did not release the names of the men nor any other details.

The incident occurred during the second quarter of the Bills’ 37-14 victory over the New York Jets.

According to reports, the man in the upper deck was seen sliding on a railing at the edge of the 300 level of the stadium, tumbling off and falling into a group of people below.

Fans on the Bills website said the incident was recorded by network television cameras covering the football game. One of them posted a short video segment showing an indistinct figure of a man sliding on the railing, then tipping over the side.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said that a report on the incident would be issued today.
