What it means: The Bills snapped a two-game losing skid and won for only the second time in seven games.  They are 5-9 and have two more chances to notch one more victory and match last year's total.

Player of the game: EJ Manuel rebounded from two bad games and a rough start. After starting with four straight incomplete passes and an interception, he went 17 of 20 for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Manuel also ran for 39 yards (not counting his kneeldowns to end the game) and a touchdown.

Moment of the game: Jacksonville multipurpose back Denard Robinson was a breath away from tying the game at 17 with 10:19 left in the third quarter. His dash should've been a dazzling 25-yard touchdown, but when he got to the goal line, Buffalo safety Aaron Williams knocked the ball loose. The ball rolled out of the end zone to give Buffalo possession at the 20-yard line.

Clinching sequence: Jacksonville had a glorious chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter with a first-and-goal situation from Buffalo's 2-yard line. Bills safety Jim Leonhard tackled Jordan Todman for a 4-yard loss, Chad Henne threw an incomplete pass and Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore snagged an interception in the back of the end zone with 3:15 on the clock.

Preliminary injury report: Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury and didn't return. ... Bills receiver Marquise Goodwin took a knee after Jaguars defensive back Winston Guy hit him in the head on a long pass attempt with 12:42 to play. Guy was penalized for unnecessary roughness. ... With 9:22 to play, Aaron Williams lay on the field for several minutes because of injured ribs.
