Bills to play in Hall of Fame game

The Buffalo Bills will have some extra evaluation time this summer in setting their roster.

The team will play a fifth preseason game, against the New York Giants in the annual Hall of Fame game that begins the NFL exhibition season. The game will take place at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio at 8 p.m. Aug. 3. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.

It's the fourth time the Bills have appeared in the game, most recently in 2009, when Bruce Smith and team owner Ralph C. Wilson Jr. were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This year, former Bills great Andre Reed will take his place in Canton.

Former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan joins Reed in the 2014 Hall of Fame class. The Giants will appear in the game for a fifth time, but first since 2002.
